Continuing kitchen construction

A full day of kitchen-itis, and then some.

Short interruption while the roofer came to explain that our skylight is to blame for the leak. Sure, of course it is . Andreas followed him up the ladder to see how it was installed and then called the manufacturer to find out how it should have been done. Then he 'discussed' with the roofer the correct installation method and the roofer 'discussed' back that it would be extra for that. In the 'discussion' it was decided that the builder needed to be apprised of the situation. The roofer caulked the skylight for a temporary fix & our builder will have it corrected in the next couple of weeks.

The kitchen uppers are hung, and then we had to put all the feet on the base cabinets plus build a solid wood base frame for the island cabinets. It sounds much easier that it is, especially when you are working in the middle of a room and need to line everything up, just so. In the end, it was a long day and close to midnight by the time we put down the tools.
