Busy Saturday at the Estate - Brick, Drywall, Paint & Bath Cabinets

Saturday May 31, 2008

A flurry of activity around the Estate today...and not a builder in sight (or on site). Turns out our builder was quite sick today so we are our own GC at the job site. Not that this is very unusual these days!

What was unusual was the amount of people working. Three bricklayers, a painter and his supervisor doing a drywall repair plus both Andreas and Lianne. Andreas was supervising everyone and Lianne was installing the bath cabinets.

Nothing like a finished wall being ripped open. The insulation was pushing out the drywall and it finally cracked. Since the guy in the picture is both the drywall boss and the painting supervisor, he has to fix it.

Here are some of the master bath cabinets, masterfully installed by Lianne.

And the bricklayers, hard at work.

First on the north side of the house, where they filled in the former bathroom window and the former side door.

Tight squeeze down between us and our neighbour on the other side where they filled in the former dining room window.

The front door in progress - the two guys in the third picture are finishing up across the top.
